Blast-off with The Motts on NEWSTALK 1010

If men can wear socks with sandals surely they can talk about their emotions!

Today we launched our website live on radio with Carol and Paul Mott, on NEWSTALK 1010. My high school Principal said I had a radio voice and I do love listening to the radio so what an exciting moment on my first Father’s Day.

Our website will continue to evolve and be updated thanks to your feedback. In the meantime keep up the conversation, talk about your feelings, and if you’re feeling mentally unwell let your family and your doctor know. Help is available to you.

Happy Father’s Day

Sunday, June 15th is Father’s Day. Let’s take this wonderful opportunity to have a closer look at Fathers’ Mental Health. We often avoid speaking openly about mental health issues due to concerns about stigma. We know the stigma of mental health tends to have a unique and more severe impact on men than it does on women. That’s largely due to society’s stereotypes about the male role, having to be strong and tending to repress their feelings and emotions. As a result, many men, including fathers suffer with mental health troubles in silence. On Sunday, when we celebrate the role of the father, let’s also take a minute to speak/post/tweet/raise awareness about mental illness and the impact it can have on fathers and families. Wishing everyone a happy and (mentally) healthy Father’s Day weekend.
